What you'll be doing?
- Leading on-site coordination: Take full ownership of day-to-day site activities, coordinating contractors, tradespeople, and project stakeholders to ensure works are executed in line with design intent and project specifications.
- Managing project timelines and scheduling: Plan and manage project timelines, weekly site schedules, and progress reporting using the company's in-house systems and templates to keep every project moving with precision.
- Solving site challenges proactively: Anticipate problems before they arise, respond swiftly when issues do occur, and apply calm, practical problem-solving to keep the project on track without compromising quality.
- Interpreting and executing design drawings: Read and confidently apply interior construction drawings, ensuring that every detail of the design is translated faithfully and beautifully into the built environment.
- Communicating with clients and contractors: Serve as the key point of contact on site, maintaining clear and professional communication with clients and contractors throughout every stage of the project.
- Ensuring project organisation and compliance: Keep all project documentation organised, maintain adherence to workflow processes, and ensure that all site activities align with the company's standards and client expectations.
- Collaborating with the design and build team: Work closely with designers, the carpentry team, and other internal stakeholders to bridge the worlds of design creativity and construction practicality seamlessly.
Who are they looking for?
- Educational background: A Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture is required - a background in interior design is essential for understanding and executing the high-design intent central to this role.
- Site experience: A minimum of 3 years of working experience in interior renovation, fit-out, or related site coordination is required to perform confidently and independently in this position.
- Design software proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret interior construction drawings with confidence are essential tools of the trade in this role.
- Language proficiency: Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required for effective communication with clients and contractors throughout the project. Proficiency in both languages ensures seamless coordination across all parties involved in the build process.
- Problem-solving and composure: A responsive, proactive, and calm approach to site challenges - someone who notices issues before they accelerate and keeps the team focused and moving forward.
- Organisation and time management: Strong planning skills, attention to workflow and scheduling, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously in a fast-paced project environment.
- Carpentry and built-in furniture knowledge: Familiarity with carpentry, built-in furniture, or cabinetry works is a valued added advantage, particularly given the company's in-house carpentry operations.
