Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced HSE professional to lead on-site safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance across complex projects. The role requires strong knowledge of OSHA/ISO standards and a track record of managing safety in high-tech construction settings.

Responsibilities include implementing policies, conducting audits, leading safety trainings, and coordinating with managers and clients to maintain safe operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of local safety regulations and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Yellow Book Certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor site-specific HSE policies and procedures in line with local regulations and project requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety walkabouts to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety protocols at all times.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed incident reports and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to maintain a safe work environment.
• Oversee high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined spaces, electrical works, and chemical handling.
• Maintain and update all safety documentation, permits-to-work, and compliance records.
• Support emergency response planning and drills
