Job summary

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services firm, is seeking an experienced HSE professional for a site-based role in Malaysia (Johor Bahru). You will implement HSE policies, conduct inspections, lead safety briefings, and coordinate with project teams to ensure regulatory compliance on high-tech construction projects.

A Diploma/Degree in a related field and 5+ years of HSE experience are required; Yellow Book Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech construction.
• Strong knowledge of local safety regulations and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Yellow Book Certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor site-specific HSE policies and procedures in line with local regulations and project requirements
• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety walkabouts to identify hazards and ensure compliance
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce safety protocols at all times
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed incident reports and corrective actions
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to maintain a safe work environment
• Oversee high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined spaces, electrical works, and chemical handling
• Maintain and update all safety documentation, permits-to-work, and compliance records
• Support emergency response planning and drills
