Job summary

ALP Energy Sdn Bhd in Selangor is hiring a Safety Officer to manage site safety, conduct inductions and trainings, and maintain safety records in line with QHSEMS.

You will observe hazards, perform HIRARC, supervise subcontractors, liaise with DOSH and authorities, and help keep ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 systems updated.

Qualifications

• Valid Yellow Book registered with DOSH.
• Minimum two years in construction.
• CIDB and First Aider certificates valid.
• Must have a valid driving license and own transport.
• Familiar with safety standards for construction/substation/environment.
• Strong written and verbal English & Bahasa Melayu.

Responsibilities

• Identify hazards and assess risk; implement controls at site.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with Safety Management System requirements.
• Prepare HIRARC and Job Hazard Analysis before work.
• Maintain ERP and distribute safety communication to responsible parties.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and site safety inspections.
• Liaise with DOSH, local authorities and other agencies on health, safety and security matters.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems at site/HQ.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Safety & Health Officer.

Job description

To create safety awareness and carry out safety meeting, safety induction and safety training at site. To prepare and submit a Monthly Safety Report and Safety Statistic record. To observe and/or maintain a diary detailing safety activity(s), hazardous works, housekeeping, safety instruction, etc. in place. To implement all safety procedures and practices to suit activities at site. To provide assistance for QHSEMS during internal/external audit by ensuring all related documents at site/HQ is updated from time to time.

Key responsibilities

Take pro-active measures to identify hazard, assess the risk and then implement suitable control measures to eliminate all dangers at site

Ensure subcontractors comply to the requirements of the Safety Management System which outlined their responsibilities and commitments

Prepare the HIRARC and Job Hazard Analysis before its execution

Maintain pertinent information on Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and ensure the relevant communication information is distributed to the responsible party

Conduct daily safety briefing and site safety inspection

Liaise with the DOSH, local authority and other relevant government agencies with regard to health, safety and security matters

Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, relevant stakeholders and the public using principles of good customer service

Implement and maintain company's Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)

Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by Safety & Health Officer (SHO)

About you

Valid Yellow Book holder registered with Department of Occupational Safety Health (DOSH)

Minimum two (2) years working experience in construction

Valid CIDB & First Aider certificate

Valid driving license

Posses own transport

Familiar with safety standard concepts and best practices for construction/substation/environment

Good writing and verbal communication skills in both English & Bahasa Melayu

Keen intention to detail and ability to effectively manage time

Able to work in irregular hours to complete the site work activities
