Job summary

Sheure Engineering Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Selangor, is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor for a full-time role. You will oversee safety across construction sites, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a zero-harm culture on projects.

Requirements include a Diploma/Degree in OHS or equivalent with NEBOSH IGC or similar certification, and strong knowledge of CIDB regulations. Travel to multiple sites may be needed; driving licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent recognised in construction).
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is required or preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations and CIDB requirements.
• Experience in risk assessments, method statements and hazard identification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with workers at all levels.
• Proven ability to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Competent in health and safety documentation and record-keeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox talks to identify hazards and communicate safety requirements to site personnel.
• Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, standards and policies.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses and accidents; document findings and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation such as risk assessments, method statements, permits and records.
• Coordinate and deliver safety inductions and training for new and existing workers.
• Develop risk assessments and safe work method statements for construction activities.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external safety consultants as required.
• Manage PPE standards and site safety equipment; participate in safety meetings and reporting of KPIs.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and leadership.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join Sheure Engineering Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest health, safety and environmental standards across our construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be instrumental in ensuring all operations comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies, protecting our workforce and fostering a strong safety culture. This position is essential to the successful delivery of our projects whilst maintaining zero-harm objectives.

Key responsibilities

Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox talks to identify potential hazards and communicate safety requirements to all site personnel

Monitor and ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, standards and company policies

Investigate incidents, near-misses and accidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective and preventive actions

Maintain comprehensive health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, permits and safety records

Coordinate and deliver safety inductions and training programmes for new and existing site workers

Perform risk assessments and develop safe work method statements for all construction activities

Liaise with regulatory authorities and external safety consultants as required

Manage and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) standards and site safety equipment

Participate in safety meetings and provide regular reporting on safety performance metrics and key performance indicators

Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication and leading by example

What we’re looking for

Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification recognised in the construction industry

Current NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate) or equivalent professional certification

Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) requirements

Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, method statements and hazard identification

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels

Proven ability to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

Competency in health and safety documentation and record-keeping systems

Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to multiple sites as needed

Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging construction environments
