Job summary

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated Safety and Health Officer to join our Penang team. This full-time role ensures health and safety on our construction sites, implementing and enforcing safety protocols across operations.

You will conduct site inspections, develop safety policies, provide training and investigate incidents to drive continuous safety improvements and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction site hazards and control measures.
• Familiar with OSHA-related legislation in Malaysia.
• Experience in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
• Ability to maintain safety records and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices
• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures for construction sites
• Provide safety training and induction programmes to all workers, contractors and site visitors
• Investigate accidents and near-misses; prepare reports with corrective actions
• Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and standards
• Maintain safety records, documentation and statistics including incident reports and metrics
• Coordinate with project managers to integrate safety measures into daily construction activities
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings to raise safety awareness
• Liaise with authorities regarding safety matters
• Recommend and oversee improvements to safety systems and procedures
