Job summary

ONNEC Group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead and deliver large-scale hyperscale data centre projects on a full-time, site-based basis. You will manage a team of supervisors and engineers to ensure installations are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is hands-on, requiring coordination of site activities, contractors, and overall project execution with strong HSE practices and robust reporting using MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate site-based engineering teams.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of supervisors and engineers to ensure cabling and installations meet specifications and safety standards.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met, perform risk assessments, and follow methods statements.
• Manage stock and materials to ensure timely installation and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and present progress reports to the Project Manager in a clear, logical format.
• Attend client meetings and document actions to ensure timely completion.

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time, site-based basis, supporting the delivery of large-scale hyperscale data centre projects.

The Site Manager will take full responsibility for the delivery of data centre projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is fully site-based and requires hands‑on coordination of site activities, contractors, and overall project execution.

What you’ll be doing as our Site Manager:

• Oversee a team of supervisors and engineers to ensure all cable installations are installed to specification, on time and meet Onnec Group and Manufacturers quality standards.
• Ensure all current Health & Safety requirements are met, carrying out Risk Assessments, drafting method statements and ensuring all H&S procedures are followed.
• Ensure stock is managed in a cost effective manner and that there are sufficient materials available at all times to ensure efficient installation.
• Order materials as required.
• Compile progress reports as required and / or provide information in a logical format to the Project Manager.
• Carry out quality checks on all works carried out by the cabling engineers and ensure all required Quality Standards are met.
• Read and understand all site drawings, update ‘as and when’ when work is completed.
• Attend and document client meetings and ensure all required actions are carried out in a timely manner.
• Compile process and produce documentation as required to meet company and client standards.
• Draw up patching schedules and ensure timely implementation of any patching requirements.
• Ensure all required installations are documented as specified.
• Draw up Operations and Maintenance manuals as required.
• As and when required assist in any urgent installation works.
• Ensure that project profitability is maximised at all times.

• Confident in client-facing interactions, with the ability to understand and manage client requirements.
• Demonstrable experience within the IT industry, specifically in data centre installations.
• Solid understanding of structured cabling installation practices and standards.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and manage teams on site.
