Job summary

Keppel DC Malaysia 1 Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced professional to manage data center operations and maintenance, ensuring 100% uptime and safe, efficient infrastructure performance.

You will prepare SOPs, MOPs, EOPs and work instructions, drive KPI-based programs, and lead change management activities. The role requires 5+ years in data centers or critical environments, strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management capabilities, and compliance with QEHS standards and government

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment.
• Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field required.
• Experience in Data Centre operations or critical facility management is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist to manage data center operations and maintenance ensuring uptime and safe operation.
• Prepare SOP, MOP, EOP and WI; develop a measured program based on KPIs and SLAs.
• Escalate incidents, prepare incident/root cause reports, and attend Change Advisory Board meetings.
• Conduct technical inspections, testing, and commissioning for projects.
• Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements and government regulations.
• Supervise and train junior technicians and handymen in critical space operations.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in audits as required.
• Travel overseas for work assignments when necessary; support maintenance requirements.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your main duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Assist to manage data center operations and maintenance and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of infrastructure systems and 100% uptime. Prepares SOP, MOP, EOP and WI
• Prepare Change Management document for major activity and attends ChangeAdvisory Board meeting
• Develop a measured program based on Key Performance Indicators and ServiceLevel Agreements
• Escalate incidents and issues, adhering to incident process and procedure. Prepareincident report or root cause analysis report
• Identify and carry out corrective and repair programs on electrical, mechanical, firesuppresson and BMS, etc. Conduct annual review on end-of-life components
• Conduct technical inspection for project hand-over process c/w defects. Participate in project testing and commissioning
• Ensure new installation and maintenance of electrical equipment is safe, correct and complies with Suruhanjaya Tenaga's requirement
• Maintain the building utilities operations for the plant and ensuring the plants meets all Municipal and government requirement such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA and etc.
• Ensure that equipment meet operational performance expectations & comply with Green Mark / TIA Standards
• Ensure all licenses are renewed in timely manner
• Conduct supervision and hands-on training to junior peers (technicians, handyman and members entering critical space)
• Respond to after-hours and unplanned 'disaster response' emergencies/contingencies as and when required without prior notice
• Prepare documentation & attends internal, external or client’s audit
• Perform any additional services needed to meet the requirements of the facility in support of maintenance function
• Travel overseas for work / assignment as and when necessary or requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department
• Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time
• In the event there are substantial changes to the main duties and responsibilities as set out herein (for example, in cases of secondment, transfer or promotion), the Company will communicate such changes to you in writing

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study required.
• 5+ years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment required (preference is given to data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant experience).
• Experience in Data Centre operations or critical facility management is advantageous
• Strong leadership and people management skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Good planning, organisational, and problem solving skills
• Ability to influence, collaborate, and drive outcomes effectively
• Customer-oriented with strong vendor and client relationship management capabilities
• Familiarity with QEHS standards and operational audits preferred
