Job summary

Turner & Townsend SDN. BHD. in Batu Kawan, Penang, is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor (Industrial & Science) to lead HSE programs on active projects and ensure compliance with local regulations.

You will conduct site inspections, lead toolbox talks, manage incident reporting, and coordinate with managers, engineers and subcontractors to maintain a safe workplace. The role requires overseeing high-risk activities and maintaining thorough safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in semiconductor, cleanroom, or high-tech construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of local safety regulations and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Yellow Book Certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor site-specific HSE policies and procedures in line with local regulations and project requirements
• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety walkabouts to identify hazards and ensure compliance
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce safety protocols at all times
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed incident reports and corrective actions
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to maintain a safe work environment
• Oversee high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined spaces, electrical works, and chemical handling
• Maintain and update all safety documentation, permits-to-work, and compliance records
• Support emergency response planning and drills
