ERM is seeking a motivated EHS Consultant to participate in a range of projects across ERM's services, including climate, regulatory analysis and sustainability initiatives in Malaysia. You will act as the site EHS focal point, coordinating with the client, EPCC contractor, subcontractors and site teams to ensure compliance and safe operations.

Responsibilities include inspections, audits, permit-to-work verification, risk assessments and incident investigations, with reporting on compliance

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in environmental science, engineering, occupational safety and health, construction management or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of site-based EHS experience on construction, infrastructure, industrial or energy projects.
• Proven experience in site inspections, compliance audits, contractor-document reviews, incident investigations and corrective-action close-out.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian environmental and occupational safety and health legislation, licences, permits and site compliance requirements.
• Valid Malaysian competency certification or registration relevant to the project scope (e.g., Safety and Health Officer, Site Safety Supervisor, or similar).
• Practical knowledge of permit-to-work, risk assessment, lifting, excavation, work at height, confined spaces, hot work, traffic management and emergency response.
• Valid driving licence and ability to travel to project site.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the site EHS focal point, coordinating daily with the client, EPCC contractor, subcontractors and site teams.
• Monitor compliance with Malaysian EHS legislation, project approvals, permit conditions and approved EHS plans and procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections, joint walkthroughs and scheduled audits across construction areas and environmental controls.
• Verify implementation of permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, job safety analyses and toolbox talks.
• Review contractor submissions, permits, training records and statutory certificates.
• Monitor high-risk activities and environmental controls, and escalate issues promptly to management.
• Prepare clear daily/weekly/monthly reports covering compliance status, incidents and KPIs.
• Assist incident notification, investigation and root-cause analysis and track corrective actions.
