Job summary

CBH Engineering in Malaysia seeks a site mechanical engineer to plan, coordinate and supervise mechanical works from design through installation, testing, commissioning and handover. Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Relevant experience in construction, M&E, facilities, data centre, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical engineering works from design through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Review drawings, specifications, calculations, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design and site-related issues.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the progress and quality of mechanical installations.
• Review and coordinate inspection and testing activities, including testing and commissioning requirements.
• Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant parties.
• Assist in reviewing equipment selections, technical datasheets, material submissions, and supplier proposals.
• Review technical reports, progress updates, inspection records, and other project documentation.
• Participate in meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and project coordination activities.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
