CBH Engineering in Malaysia seeks a site mechanical engineer to plan, coordinate and supervise mechanical works from design through installation, testing, commissioning and handover. You will review drawings and specifications, coordinate with electrical, civil and other disciplines, monitor contractors, perform site inspections, and contribute to code-compliant, on-time project delivery.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required; experience in data centre, facilities or
Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical engineering works from design through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Review mechanical drawings, specifications, calculations, method statements, and technical submissions.
Coordinate with electrical, civil, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design and site-related issues.
Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the progress and quality of mechanical installations.
Review and coordinate inspection and testing activities, including testing and commissioning requirements.
Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant parties.
Assist in reviewing equipment selections, technical datasheets, material submissions, and supplier proposals.
Review technical reports, progress updates, inspection records, and other project documentation.
Participate in meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and project coordination activities.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Education & Experience (Basic requirement for this position)
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Relevant experience in mechanical engineering, construction, M&E, facilities, data centre, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Good knowledge of mechanical systems, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Good understanding of applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and statutory regulations.
Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office / Excel and relevant engineering/project management software.
Willingness to work on site and travel when required.
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:Data centre projects, HVAC and cooling systems, Fire protection systems, Plumbing and sanitary systems, Testing and commissioning, Construction and M&E coordination.
