About the role

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join the team at KK SUPERMART Banting, located in Taman Baiduri (BBD). This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to be part of a dynamic retail environment. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining the smooth operation of our store. Your contributions will directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our supermarket.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting customers with product selection, inquiries and directions throughout the store
• Processing transactions at the checkout with accuracy and efficiency
• Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays to ensure the store is well-organised and visually appealing
• Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness throughout the store, including aisles, shelves and customer areas
• Handling customer complaints and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
• Assisting with stock taking and inventory management as required
• Following company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment
• Supporting the store team to meet sales targets and promotional objectives

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues
• A friendly, helpful and patient demeanour when dealing with diverse customers
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexibly according to part‑time scheduling requirements
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and stock management
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures
