Job summary

Southern Cable Sdn Bhd is hiring an Executive (SHE) to lead safety, health and environmental initiatives in Kuala Ketil, Kedah. The role focuses on developing and implementing safety policies, training, and ensuring regulatory compliance while protecting workers.

The successful candidate will drive hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations and continuous safety improvements across all operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an OHS role
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian workplace safety legislation (OSH Act 1994)
• Experience in risk assessment, hazard identifications and incident investigations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health and safety management systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing and reviewing occupational health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines
• Conducting workplace risk assessments and hazard identification across all operational areas
• Investigating incidents, accidents and near-misses to identify root causes and corrective actions
• Providing safety training and induction programmes to employees at all levels
• Monitoring compliance with health and safety legislation, regulations and standards
• Maintaining accurate records of safety incidents, inspections and audits
• Liaising with external regulatory bodies and health and safety authorities as required
• Promoting a strong safety culture through engagement, communication and awareness campaigns
• Supporting the management of occupational health programmes and employee wellbeing initiatives
• Conducting regular safety audits and inspections of workplace facilities and equipment
• Recommending improvements to working conditions and safety procedures
