Job summary

Trane Malaysia Sales & Services Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced HVAC professional to provide technical support, service, and maintenance for data centre cooling systems and mission-critical equipment.

You will lead technicians, coordinate with customers, and ensure maintenance plans align with safety and quality standards while supporting regional operations from Johor Bahru.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience, preferably supporting data centre operations or mission-critical cooling systems.
• Strong expertise in chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, HVAC system controls, and cooling optimization.
• Experience engaging with data centre customers and managing customer expectations in a high-demand environment.
• Willingness to work long hours, including after-hours support when required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-handling skills.
• Based in Johor Bahru and able to support regional operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, cooling towers, and associated HVAC infrastructure.
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimization for HVAC and data centre cooling systems.
• Lead and supervise technicians or subcontractors to ensure timely and quality completion of assigned tasks.
• Communicate with data centre customers to coordinate work schedules, address concerns, provide updates, and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Support planning, documentation, and reporting for maintenance schedules and operational activities.
• Work closely with vendors and contractors for job coordination and materials sourcing.
• Ensure all work follows relevant EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and internal quality requirements.
• Respond to urgent or unplanned maintenance needs; willingness to work extended or irregular hours as required by data centre operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
