Job summary

Shangri-La Group in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Service Manager-Engineering (Duty Engineer) to lead the engineering team, ensuring all hotel systems run smoothly and safely at all times.

You will manage, coach and supervise technicians; prioritise emergency work; support projects, audits and training; and require fluency in English, with experience in electrical engineering and gas welding and a Diploma or Certificate in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering.
• Experience with an International 5* Hotel Group preferred.
• Fluent English and local language.

We are looking for Service Manager-Engineering (Duty Engineer)

As a Service Manager-Engineering (Duty Engineer), we rely on you to

Manage, coach and supervise the engineering technicians

Ensure all equipment runs smoothly at all times

Carry out and prioritise emergency work requests

Support engineering projects through planning, supervision and execution

Support the audit and training programmes

We are looking for someone who:

Has a passion for Engineering

Preferably has experience in electrical engineering and gas welding

Enjoys taking on a new challenge

Not afraid to take up new challenges

Willing to work shifts

Has experience as a Duty Engineer or equivalent in a hotel

Has a Diploma or Certificate in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering

Has relevant experience with an International 5* Hotel Group

Communicates with fluency in English (and the local language)

A motivator and a self-starter
