Job summary

Infinity 8 is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer with strong electrical, generator and genset experience to support testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and emergency repair at mission-critical sites in Malaysia.

You will perform start-up, testing and commissioning, conduct IST, carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex faults and respond to 24/7 emergencies. Travel to customer sites in Johor is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of field service, maintenance or commissioning experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with generators/gensets and power generation equipment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and respond to 24/7 emergency call-outs in Johor.
• Experience supporting data centres, power plants, industrial facilities or mission-critical environments is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform generator/genset start-up, testing and commissioning.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical, mechanical and control system faults.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent service call-outs at customer sites.
• Use diagnostic equipment including thermal imaging cameras, relay test kits, power quality analysers and vibration meters.
• Prepare service reports, RCA reports and site visit documentation.
• Follow strict safety procedures including LOTO, PTW and arc-flash safety requirements.
• Coordinate with customers, commissioning teams, project teams and internal technical teams.

Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical, mechanical and control system faults

Respond to emergency breakdowns and urgent service call-outs at customer sites

Use diagnostic equipment including thermal imaging cameras, relay test kits, power quality analysers and vibration meters

Prepare service reports, root-cause analysis (RCA) reports and site visit documentation

Follow strict safety procedures including LOTO, Permit-to-Work (PTW) and arc-flash safety requirements

Coordinate with customers, commissioning teams, project teams and internal technical teams

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

Minimum 3 years of field service, maintenance or commissioning experience

Strong hands-on experience with generators/gensets, power generation equipment or related electrical systems

Strong electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills

Experience in testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting

Willing to travel to customer sites and respond to 24/7 emergency call-outs in Johor

Strong safety awareness, hands-on approach and problem-solving skills

HV / Competent Person certification is an added advantage

Experience supporting data centres, power plants, industrial facilities or other mission-critical environments is an advantage
