Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer for testing, commissioning and maintenance of diesel generator sets. The role involves FAT/SAT testing, on-site fault diagnostics, and provision of technical training to clients.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on experience, an Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics degree, knowledge of AVR and control modules, and willingness to travel across Malaysia. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia is preferred.
Testing & Commissioning: Perform factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), load bank testing, and full commissioning of new diesel generator sets.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Quickly identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system faults on diesel generators and associated switchgear.
Service & Maintenance: Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, including overhauls, fuel system servicing, alternator checks, and control panel programming.
Training: Deliver technical training to client operators, technicians, and internal teams on generator operation, maintenance best practices, and safety procedures.
Support emergency call-outs and ensure high uptime of generator installations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, service, and maintenance of diesel generators (engine brands such as Baudouin, Cummins, Perkins, Volvo, MTU, or equivalent preferred and alternators like Leroy Somer, Stamford etc.).
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics, electrical systems, AVR, control modules (e.g., DEIF, Deep Sea, ComAp, Woodward), and synchronization.
Proven ability to work independently at customer sites with excellent problem-solving and safety awareness.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages advantageous).
Possess a valid driving license and willingness to travel within Malaysia.
