Job summary

Carrier is seeking a hands-on HVAC technician in Malaysia to perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance of chillers under service agreements. You will troubleshoot electrical and control systems, execute repairs, and assist in commissioning while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

The role involves preparing safety documentation, managing spare parts, and leveraging Carrier's Smart Service Platform for monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in chiller servicing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or repair.
• Knowledge of centrifugal, screw, or water-cooled chiller systems.
• Experience reading electrical/control drawings and interpreting operating parameters.
• Familiarity with BMS, IoT/remote monitoring, or smart service platforms is an advantage.
• Experience in data centres, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, or large HVAC projects desirable.
• Strong report-writing, coordination, and project execution skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead or support technicians on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment, mainly chillers, under Service Agreements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and operational issues and provide technical recommendations.
• Execute and supervise repair, commissioning, and service activities.
• Attend customer complaints, investigate issues, and provide effective solutions.
• Support after-sales service sales by identifying repair, replacement, upgrade, and maintenance opportunities.
• Attend technical meetings with customers, consultants, and contractors.
• Prepare JHA, Method Statements, work permits, safety documentation, and other jobsite requirements.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, technicians, and internal teams for smooth execution of service activities.
• Manage and forecast spare parts requirements for repair and maintenance works.
• Connect and monitor chillers through the Carrier Smart Service Platform and prepare equipment performance reports.
• Prepare technical reports, service reports, commissioning/start-up reports, and monthly chiller performance reports.
• Conduct technical and product training for customers, contractors, and in-house technicians.
• Liaise with factory technical teams and follow up on technical issues, service bulletins, and product-related matters.
• Support the Service Manager in daily operational and technical activities.
• Ensure compliance with company EH&S policies and customer site safety requirements.
