Qualifications

• Strong storytelling ability with a portfolio showing how ideas or footage become engaging narratives.
• Strong visual judgment and understanding of how framing, lighting, composition, camera movement and shot selection influence a story.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute shoots from a storytelling perspective, not just capture coverage.
• Ability to anticipate the edit while shooting and align footage with final narrative, pacing and audience retention.
• Understanding of cinematic principles: continuity, depth, lighting, movement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute video concepts with understanding of story, message, emotion and audience.
• Translate briefs into a strong visual narrative with clear beginning, progression and payoff.
• Approach shoots with a Director of Photography mindset, making intentional decisions about camera angles, lighting, composition and movement.
• Plan shots with final edit in mind, ensuring coverage, cutaways and B-roll for a coherent story.
• Capture footage that supports pacing, emotion and purpose of the final video.
• Identify strong visual opportunities during production and adjust shot plan as needed.
• Transform raw footage into engaging videos with storytelling, pacing and visual flow.
• Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to develop storyboards, shot lists and visual directions.
