Job summary

Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad seeks a qualified Tin Assay Specialist to lead the Tin Assay section, ensuring accurate assay of feed materials, in-process samples, fluxes and final products. You will manage daily operations and report results with precision.

The role requires hands-on experience with OES, XRF, AAS, ICP-OES, and related lab instruments, plus strong supervision and troubleshooting skills. Willingness to work at Pulau Indah, Port Klang, Selangor is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy or related field.
Experience 3–5 years in manufacturing, smelting, mining, QA/QC or analytical lab.
Hands-on with OES, XRF, AAS, ICP-OES or similar lab equipment.
Knowledge of wet chemistry, sample prep, calibration and troubleshooting.
Exposure to IMS/ISO standards and lab safety is an advantage.

Responsibilities

In charge of Tin Assay section and accurate assay of feed materials, in-process samples, fluxes and final products.
Operate and calibrate analytical instruments (OES, XRF, AAS, ICP-OES).
Monitor and supervise a team of lab staff responsible for sample collection.
Coordinate with Ore Room's Supervisor for sample collection of incoming materials.
Maintain records of lab consumables, tools and storage items.
Ensure IMS compliance (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001) and best practices.
Carry out ad-hoc and R&D tasks as assigned.
Participate in the Company OHS program.
