Job summary

Knowles Electronics (M) Sdn. Bhd. in Penang seeks an experienced Senior Technician to lead maintenance of production equipment and facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and minimal downtime.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, read and design machine control circuits, supervise junior technicians, and coordinate installation and relocation of equipment, HVAC and utility systems to keep operations smooth.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in equipment maintenance and facilities operations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC, compressed air, electrical systems, and utilities.
• Able to work independently and lead maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.

• Design and install machine control circuits for equipment improvement and automation.
• Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and restore equipment to operation promptly.

Senior Technician, Equipment Maintenance & Facilities

To perform, coordinate, and support maintenance activities for production equipment, utilities, and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation with minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.

Able to read, understand, and develop machine control circuit diagrams.

Able to design and install machine control circuits for equipment improvement and automation.

Knowledge of electrical control systems, including relays, contactors, timers, sensors, and PLCs.

Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and restore equipment to operation promptly.

Support installation, setup, modification, and relocation of equipment.

Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.

Maintain maintenance records and update PM checklists.

Ensure adequate spare parts availability.

Facilities & Utilities

Operate and maintain facility systems, including:

HVAC

Compressed Air System

Electrical Distribution System

Water Supply System

Building Facilities

Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of utilities.

Respond to facility and utility breakdowns.

Safety & Compliance

Comply with EHS and company safety requirements.

Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely.

Support audits and inspections.

Maintain proper documentation and maintenance records.

Leadership & Support

Guide and assist technicians in daily maintenance activities.

Assign and monitor maintenance tasks when required.

Provide technical support and training to junior technicians.

Requirements

Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
