Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Senior Technician for Equipment Engineering (Metal Deposition). You will perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and support startup activities for new equipment in a cross-cultural, multi-national setting.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering and 5+ years in wafer fabrication equipment, with knowledge of quality tools and process development. A strong focus on 5S, EHS, and QC compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering required in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics.
• 5+ years in front-end semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment is needed.
• Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, product or process development preferred.
• Familiarity with quality tools like OEE, SPC, FDC, 8D, FMEA, DMAIC, TWI and automation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment scheduled maintenance per schedules and specs.
• Troubleshoot failures and perform unscheduled maint. to minimize downtime.
• Prepare daily maintenance and troubleshooting reports for engineers and supervisors.
• Support equipment Continuous Improvement Programs and startup of new equipment.
• Adhere to 5S, EHS, Waste Management, Cleanroom, and Total Quality Management policies.
• Support production equipment activities such as material preparation.

Your new responsibilities

• Perform equipment scheduled maintenances according to the maintenance schedules and specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform unscheduled maintenances to ensure quality recovery and minimum down time.
• Prepare daily scheduled / unscheduled maintenance and troubleshooting activity reports for engineers and supervisors and maintain equipment spare parts and consumables
• Engage in equipment Continuous Improvement Programs and support new equipment hookup and startup activities.
• Adhere to company 5S, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Waste Management, Cleanroom Protocol and Total Quality Management System policies.
• Support activity related to production equipment, such as material preparation.

What we look for

• Candidate must have at least a Diploma in Engineering, preferably in the field of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics or vocationally trained.
• More than 5 years of front-end semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment working experience.
• Experienced in manufacturing, process engineering, product or process development.
• Familiar with OEE, SPC, FDC, 8D problem solving, FMEA, DMAIC, TWI, Digital Manufacturing and Automation.
• Able to work effectively in cross-cultural multi-national working environment & organization.
