Job summary

Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Taxation & Compliance Lead to oversee the group’s tax affairs, ensure policy implementation, and maintain compliance with the Malaysian tax regime. You will manage tax filings, monitor legislative changes, coordinate transfer pricing and CbCR/BEPS Pillar 2 with consultants, and provide proactive planning.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or related field.
Professional qualification (CPA/CA) is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience; accounting firm background is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian income tax regulations; international tax knowledge is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven leadership and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance and implementation of tax policies across group units.
Identify and report potential tax risks and coordinate with finance teams.
Oversee timely filing of income tax and other taxes (GST/SST, stamp duty).
Monitor changes in tax laws and adjust processes to maintain compliance.
Coordinate transfer pricing documentation with group units.
Provide proactive tax planning and advice for tax efficiency.
Coordinate with tax consultants on OECD CbCR and BEPS Pillar 2; hands-on experience is a plus.
Coordinate tax audits and inquiries.
