Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Sustaining Principal Product Engineer to ensure long‑term quality and manufacturability of power IC products. You will collaborate with design, test, manufacturing, and quality teams to support mature products in mass production, drive yield improvements and extend product lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of experience in Product Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related fields.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis; JMP experience preferred.
• Product management mindset with focus on cost, ROI and efficiency.
• Familiar with IC semiconductor processes and devices.
• Strong communication, time management and teamwork skills.
• Experience in NPIs/Product Development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own products across lifecycles, from production to compliance in high‑volume environments.
• Drive yield improvement and COGS optimization through process improvements.
• Manage PCRB risk, qualifications changes, and material migrations.
• Dispositon of abnormal and low yielding lots and production issues.
• Interface with Operations, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in sustaining programs.
• Analyze performance, failures, and reliability for RMAs and FA.
