Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Selangor is seeking a senior civil engineer with at least 6 years in design and project management. The role focuses on complex structural analysis, geotechnical design, and site investigations, requiring fluency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia to liaise with diverse stakeholders.

You will lead projects from conception to delivery, chair cross-disciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with local codes while managing timelines, budgets, and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis using SAP2000, ETABS or STAAD.Pro.
• Strong geotechnical knowledge including soil mechanics and foundation design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar design software.
• Experience in site investigations, feasibility studies, and technical reports.
• Knowledge of Malaysia building codes, regulations and permitting processes.
• Fluent in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia for stakeholder communication.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with strong problem-solving and detail-oriented skills.
• Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and resources; onsite work in Petaling Jaya.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception through completion.
• Perform complex structural analysis and design for infrastructure projects.
• Conduct geotechnical investigations to inform foundation design.
• Develop and review detailed drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs and other engineers for integrated delivery.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and supervise site activities.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to secure approvals.
• Identify risks and implement solutions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
