Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Engineer to lead technical handshakes with Operations, generate process docs and support prototype builds for SMT/PCBA manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on SMT process expertise, strong analytical skills, and ability to drive continuous improvement using tools like SPC, DOE and FMEA. You will mentor engineers and help define new process technologies and capabilities for development projects.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 12 years' SMT/PCBA experience.
• Hands-on SMT process skills: screen printing, component attach, reflow.
• Mechanical tooling design knowledge and reflow know-how.
• Statistical data analysis including design of experiments.
• Fluids/thermo-mechanical simulation knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible or support for technical handshake and knowledge transfer to Operations.
• Generate and update Process Specification, PFMEA, DFMEA, Master FMEA, OJTI, T32, PDR.
• Support prototype and development samples build.
• Provide inputs for updating related documents; ensure content accuracy.
• Liaise with suppliers for continuous improvement; verify new tooling, machines, materials.
• Be the technical lead for task forces and complex problem solving using SPC, 8D, FMEA.
• Identify and develop new Process technology; improve Process capability for new requirements.
• Support definition of Process technology, material, machine and tooling.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and project teams.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Responsible or support for technical handshake and knowledge transfer to Operations.
• Generate and update relevant documents, eg Process Specification, PFMEA, DFMEA, Master FMEA, OJTI, T32, PDR.
• Support prototype and development samples build.
• Provide inputs for updating of related documents and is responsible for their correct contents, eg Process of Record, Assembly Design Rule, Process Roadmap, Failure catalogue, Control Plan, Maintenance checklist, Unit process roadmap for development projects.
• Liaise with suppliers for continuous improvement and perform verification and qualification activities for new tooling, machines and materials in Development projects.
• Be the technical lead for task force and complex problem solving team using Statistical and analytical tools, eg SPC, APC, DOE, 8D, FMEA, DFMEA, etc.
• Identify and develop new Process technology and improve Process capability to meet new requirements from Business divisions.
• Support the definition of Process technology, material, machine and tooling.
• Provide technical guidance/buddy to other engineers and project team.

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

• Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant course with 12 years working experience in SMT or PCBA manufacturing industry or others relevant industry.
• Strong hands‑on experience and skills in SMT processes (screen print, component attach and reflow).
• Mechanical engineering, stencil tooling design and reflow know how.
• Statistical data analysis including design of experiment.
• Fluid, thermo-mechanical simulation knowledge is an added advantage.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
