Job summary

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Kulim, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer in Equipment Engineering (Thermal). You will lead ownership of plasma etch tools and thermal equipment, and drive uptime, OEE, MTTR, MTBF, and cost KPIs across the production line.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Science, 5+ years in front-end semiconductor equipment, and proven cross-functional leadership in a multinational setting. Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
Minimum 5 years of experience in front-end semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.
Experience leading cross-functional teams (process & equipment engineering, production).
Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural multinational environments.
Experience with OEE, SPC, FDC, 8D problem solving, FMEA, DMAIC, TWI, Predictive Maintenance, Digital Manufacturing & Automation.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

Full ownership of Plasma Etch tools (Atomic Layer Deposition / Annealing Furnace).
Full ownership on uptime, OEE, MTTR, MTBF, cost, capability and quality KPIs.
Lead equipment start-up/transfer, qualification and ramp projects.
Define maintenance procedures and spare parts stock; ensure sufficient stock.
Create and maintain documentation, certification & safety compliance.
Plan maintenance spending within budget.
Provide training to technicians and manufacturing specialists.
Own HIRADC and safety for equipment and production environment.
Provide technical leadership and consultancy across cross-functional teams.
