Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in Kulim, Malaysia seeks a senior manufacturing leader to drive wafer fabrication excellence. You will lead cross-functional teams to achieve KPIs, implement continuous improvement, and push innovations in LED/compound semiconductor manufacturing.

The role requires a decade of wafer fab experience, hands-on 8-inch fabrication, and a proven track record in yield, cycle time, and productivity gains, while fostering safety and quality culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of semiconductor wafer fabrication experience.
• Experience in Micro LED, LED, GaN, compound semiconductor, or advanced display manufacturing preferred.
• Hands-on experience in 8-inch wafer fab manufacturing.
• Proven track record in yield improvement, cycle time reduction, productivity enhancement, and manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Drive manufacturing KPIs including output, yield, cycle time, OEE, delivery performance, and productivity.
• Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across wafer fabrication operations.
• Drive yield enhancement, defect reduction, bottleneck elimination, and cost optimization programs.
• Collaborate with Process, Equipment, Quality, Planning, and Industrial Engineering teams to improve fab performance.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Support technology transfer, production ramp-up, and capacity expansion activities.
• Coach and develop engineers, manufacturing specialists, and production leadership teams.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
