Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan Penta Consultancy Sdn. Bhd is seeking a skilled Database Engineer to maintain and optimize SQL Server environments, both on-premises and in Azure.

You will monitor uptime, perform tuning, and ensure security and compliance across DBMS platforms for the Tech COE team. The role involves hands-on development with C#.NET for Web and Windows services, SSIS-driven ETL, data warehousing, and collaboration with internal and external teams to implement robust database solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of software development and system integration experience.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft SQL Server expertise, on-prem and Azure.
• Experience with MSSQL technologies: SSIS, SSAS, T-SQL, data warehousing.
• Experience developing and integrating web services, Windows services, and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Database release management and uptime monitoring.
• Optimization, tuning, security, and permission management.
• Troubleshooting, incident handling, and root-cause analysis.
• Backups, recovery, and archival management.
• Backend development using C#.NET for Web Services and Windows Services.
• SQL development with stored procedures and performance tuning.
• Database design, configuration, and implementation.
• ETL processes and SSIS-based integrations.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deploy and support software.
• Capacity planning, licensing assessments, and cost estimations.
