Institut Jantung Negara Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a senior Speech Therapist to lead the development of the Speech Therapy service and deliver patient-centred care for swallowing, speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders.
The role focuses on evidence-based treatment planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and quality improvement initiatives, with responsibilities spanning protocol development, training, and outcome monitoring.
Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide intervention for patients with swallowing, speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based clinical practices.
Lead the development of the Speech Therapy service, including protocols, documentation, competency requirements, outcome monitoring, staff training, audit and quality improvement.
Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing management strategies.
Collaborate with Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Critical Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Nursing teams.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and professional development activities.
Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or an equivalent qualification recognized in Malaysia.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC).
Minimum five years of relevant clinical experience, including adult dysphagia management, acute or critical care, tracheostomy and post-surgical rehabilitation.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical reasoning skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
