Job summary

CEEC JSPDI (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Contract Engineer to manage and administer project contracts across the lifecycle, ensuring compliance and protecting commercial interests. The role supports solar PV and energy infrastructure projects with cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will review contracts, handle variations, assess claims, and liaise with project teams to ensure timely, compliant deliverables while mitigating contractual risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (QS/CM/CE/Law).
• 3–5 years of experience in contract administration or commercial management.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure or solar PV projects is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, variations and EOT procedures.
• Familiarity with FIDIC or local contract conditions is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel with good documentation practices.
• Excellent communication, coordination and analytical skills.
• Willingness to travel or be stationed at project sites.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare and administer project contracts, including main and subcontract agreements.
• Monitor compliance and ensure activities meet contract requirements.
• Manage correspondence, notices, claims, variations and EOT submissions.
• Evaluate variation orders and provide cost implications with supporting docs.
• Assist in negotiation of contracts and contractual claims from clients and suppliers.
• Identify contractual risks and propose mitigations to protect commercial interests.
• Coordinate with project teams on contractual and commercial matters.
• Track subcontractor performance, payments and deliverables.
• Maintain records of contracts, amendments and communications.
• Provide contractual advice to management and stakeholders; prepare status reports.
