Job summary

Jabil Penang is seeking an SMT Machine Programmer SME to develop and optimize SMT programs for NPI and mass production. You will lead the SMT programming team, support ME Technicians and Engineers, and drive line efficiency through data-driven improvements.

The role requires hands‑on SMT programming expertise, strong analytical skills, and cross‑functional collaboration to meet ME KPIs and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years' SMT programming and process optimization experience.
• Proficient with SMT programming software: Valor, Aegis, CAM350.
• Strong knowledge of SMT equipment and IPC-A-610 standards.
• Able to read drawings, schematics, Gerber files, and BOMs.
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; team lead potential.

Responsibilities

• Generate, validate, update, optimize, and backup SMT programs for production and NPI.
• Maintain machine component libraries and ME Portal data.
• Prepare SMT setup sheets with configuration and route steps.
• Perform NPI FAI and incoming component verification.
• Improve process performance via measurement and optimization of pick-and-place.
• Lead the SMT programming team and provide guidance to ME Technicians.
• Drive OEE improvements related to programming and line efficiency.
• Provide real-time troubleshooting and direction to the workcell.
• Deliver daily pass-down reports to engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams on corrective actions.
