Job summary

Texas Instruments in Malaysia is seeking an energetic SMT process engineer to lead end-to-end manufacturing steps from paste printing to AOI, ensuring high quality and stable yields. You will drive process improvements, tooling readiness, and cross-functional collaboration to meet business goals.

The role requires 5+ years in semiconductor SMT environments, a ME degree, and a proven track record in problem solving, DOE/ SPC methods, and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of process engineering in semiconductor SMT environments.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end SMT processes including paste printing, placement, reflow, SPI/AOI.
• Define and improve process parameters, control limits, and windows.
• Lead yield improvement and defect reduction using structured methods (5-Why, Fishbone, DOE, SPC, JMP).
• Support NPI readiness with stencil design, process flow, and DFM/DFA/RCA.
• Perform qualifications/validations to ensure robust repeatability.
• Monitor KPIs (FPY, DPPM, Cp/Cpk, scrap, rework) and implement corrective actions.
• Act as escalation point for SMT issues; develop SOPs and technical docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with Quality, Production, Test, APTE and Supply Chain.
