Job summary

Multitrade Asiapac Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking a Senior Siemens PCS 7 Engineer to lead BMS system design, configuration, testing, FAT/SAT, and site commissioning for industrial automation projects.

You will review specs, size and configure systems, coordinate with customers and vendors, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring quality and on-time delivery across Malaysia and overseas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline as listed above.
• 3–7 years of experience in engineering and commissioning of industrial automation or DCS.
• Hands-on Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 engineering, configuration, testing, and commissioning experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCS, WinCC OA, and SIP/SIS systems is advantageous.

Job description

We are an engineering company based in *Prai, Penang, Malaysia*, providing industrial automation and control system solutions for various industrial applications.

We are currently looking for an experienced *Senior Siemens PCS 7 Engineer* to join our engineering team.

Role Description

As a *Senior Siemens PCS 7 Engineer, your main objective is to perform **BMS system design, development, configuration, testing, and site commissioning* for industrial automation and control system projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review project contracts, technical specifications, and customer requirements, and seek clarification where necessary.
• Develop engineering concepts, control philosophies, and system schemes, and obtain customer approval where required.
• Prepare system architecture, communication architecture, and software licence requirements.
• Perform system sizing and selection of CPUs, servers, clients, engineering stations, and third‑party system integration requirements.
• Configure and set up Process Historian systems.
• Prepare and maintain the I/O database based on customer documentation and project requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings, technical documents, and system documentation in accordance with project guidelines and customer requirements.
• Guide and monitor junior engineers to ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely completion of engineering deliverables.
• Ensure that established engineering processes, standards, and quality requirements are consistently followed throughout the project.
• Liaise with customers, consultants, vendors, and internal departments for technical discussions, interface coordination, and approvals.
• Monitor and report engineering progress, project risks, technical issues, and mitigation actions to management to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Prepare system integration and testing procedures and obtain the necessary approvals.
• Plan, supervise, and conduct system integration testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and review test results to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Perform *PCS 7 system design, configuration, engineering, testing, FAT, SAT, and site commissioning*.
• Provide technical support during techno‑commercial discussions, proposal preparation, and project execution to achieve technically compliant and cost‑effective solutions.
• Coordinate third‑party system integration using relevant industrial communication protocols and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot system, network, communication, and application‑related issues during engineering and commissioning.
• Conduct technical training for customers and internal engineers to support effective system operation and maintenance.
• Support site activities and commissioning assignments within Malaysia and overseas as required.

Qualifications

• *Bachelor’s Degree in *Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering*, or a related engineering discipline.*
• *3 to 7 years of relevant experience* in the engineering and commissioning of industrial automation or Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Hands‑on experience with *Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 engineering, configuration, testing, and commissioning* is highly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in *Facility Monitoring and Control Systems (FMCS)* will be an added advantage.
• Experience with *SIMATIC S7, TIA Portal, and WinCC engineering, testing, and commissioning* is preferred.
• Knowledge of *WinCC OA* will be an added advantage.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as *MODBUS, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, HART, Ethernet, and OPC* is preferred.
• Good understanding of industrial communication interfaces and networks, including *PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and Ethernet TCP/IP*.
• Knowledge and practical experience with *Process Historian or industrial historian systems* will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of industrial *Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)* or safety‑related automation systems will be an added advantage.
• Advanced training or certification in *Siemens DCS, PLC, SCADA, industrial instrumentation*, or equivalent certification from another recognised automation manufacturer will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead engineering activities and coordinate effectively with customers, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia and internationally for project execution, testing, and commissioning activities.

Salary Range: RM6,000 – RM9,000
