Job summary

Toyota Penampang is seeking an experienced automotive technician with a Diploma in Automotive Technology and strong diagnostic skills. The role demands hands-on repair work, adherence to Toyota standards, and leadership in guiding junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on automotive repair and servicing with quality workmanship.
• Coach and support junior technicians in repairs and troubleshooting.
• Act as a technical reference point for the service team on complex repairs.
• Assist Service Leader/Management in resolving technical issues and improving workshop efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and manufacturer repair standards.
• Carry out quality inspections and final checks before vehicles are released to customers.

Job description

Minimum Diploma in Automotive Technology or a related field.

Relevant automotive technical certifications will be an added advantage.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on automotive repair and servicing experience, preferably within an authorized dealership or established automotive workshop.

Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance.

Experience with Toyota vehicles and Toyota technical standards will be an advantage.

Posses valid driving licence (class D)

Good in computer literacy (Microsoft office)

Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle faults.

Able to perform complex repairs, including engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering, air-conditioning and electrical systems.

Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and repair procedures.

Good understanding of manufacturer repair standards, safety procedures and quality requirements.

Able to carry out quality inspections and final checks before vehicles are released to customers.

Capable of diagnosing difficult or recurring technical problems and providing effective solutions.

Able to use workshop equipment correctly and ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Able to guide, coach and support junior technicians in technical repairs and troubleshooting.

Act as a technical reference point for the Service Team when dealing with complex repairs.

Assist the Technical Leader / Service Management in resolving technical issues and improving workshop efficiency.

Demonstrate strong problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills.

Willing to share technical knowledge and conduct on-the-job coaching for other technicians.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision while maintaining high work standards.
