Qualifications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

What You’ll Do: Software Development & Solution Design Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, ensuring high availability and performance. Define solution designs and system architectures for customer-facing and backend applications. Develop systems with scalability, flexibility, and maintainability in mind. Collaborate with development teams and product managers to ideate and deliver software solutions. Improve software quality through Agile engineering practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing. Prepare and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, API documentation, operational guides, and other engineering documents. Troubleshoot defects, enhance existing software, and provide ongoing application support. Manage operational applications and databases to ensure system stability and performance. Write and maintain effective APIs and technical documentation. Provide support during SIT and UAT, investigating and resolving technical issues. Conduct system performance management, application vulnerability management, and software release management. Plan and execute production system implementations. Cloud Engineering and System Integration Design, develop, and deploy enterprise cloud-based solutions using AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, Cognito, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, VPC, Route 53, and CloudWatch. Implement serverless applications using Node.js and AWS Lambda, following best practices for scalability, performance, resilience, and cost optimisation. Design and implement event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, messaging solutions, and integrations with internal and external platforms. Develop secure integrations with third-party services, payment gateways, notification platforms, analytics systems, and enterprise applications. Apply cloud architecture principles to improve system availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, observability, and operational efficiency. Evaluate and optimise application and infrastructure costs without compromising performance or reliability. Technical Leadership and Engineering Excellence Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex production incidents, resolving performance bottlenecks, and conducting root cause analysis. Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering design decisions. Guide developers on coding standards, application architecture, testing strategies, security practices, and engineering best practices. Mentor team members, encourage knowledge sharing, and support the continuous development of technical capabilities across the team. Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Project Managers, Infrastructure, Security, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure successful solution delivery. Conduct technology benchmarking and industry analysis to recommend suitable technologies and align with the organisation's technical strategy. Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, and cost-effective technical solutions. Conceptualise, articulate, and advocate the value of technology in solving real business problems. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders on critical issues to ensure optimal business outcomes. Drive continuous improvement in development processes, engineering standards, automation, and delivery practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Who You Are: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 6 years of software development experience within Agile teams. Strong expertise in developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js. At least 6 years of hands‑on experience in API and microservices development. Strong hands‑on experience in frontend development using React.js and Next.js. Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development practices. Experience with UI frameworks and styling libraries such as Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, and Material UI. Strong experience in designing and developing responsive, reusable, and scalable web applications. Strong experience designing and developing enterprise cloud‑based solutions on AWS. Hands‑on experience with AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, Cognito, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, VPC, EBS, Route 53, and CloudWatch. Proven experience designing and developing web, API, and cloud‑based solutions. Experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Node.js. Strong understanding of event‑driven architectures using services such as SNS, SQS, and EventBridge. Proficient in relational databases, particularly MySQL, including database schema design, SQL queries, indexing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or equivalent. Understanding and experience in developing solutions using application‑layer protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, and WebSockets. Ability to write automated unit and integration test cases using testing frameworks and mocking libraries. Proficient in source code management tools such as Git. Strong understanding of object‑oriented design principles, SOLID principles, and design patterns. Familiarity with modern architecture patterns, including microservices, event‑driven architectures, stream processing, and real‑time analytics integration. Strong appreciation of non‑functional requirements (NFRs), including scalability, extensibility, reliability, security, and performance. Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies. Experience implementing CI/CD processes in AWS environments is an advantage. Familiarity with modern API design standards, including OpenAPI Specification, is an advantage. Experience with Docker and container‑based deployments is an advantage. Excellent analytical, logical, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to plan and execute projects while delivering quality outcomes within agreed timelines. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills. Experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Kiro, or equivalent solutions to improve productivity, code quality, testing, debugging, and documentation.
