Job summary

Westernacher Consulting in Malaysia invites a Senior SAP Project Manager to lead strategic transformation programmes across local, regional, and global engagements. You will drive governance, planning, execution, and stakeholder alignment with a focus on delivering value within scope and budget.

The role requires extensive SAP transformation experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of project or programme management experience.
• Minimum 5 years leading SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Experience delivering at least two full lifecycle SAP programmes.
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams and multiple workstreams.
• Experience managing executive-level stakeholders and governance forums.

Lead Large-Scale Business Transformation with a Global SAP Leader

As we continue to strengthen our team in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Project Manager to lead strategic transformation programs and drive successful project delivery across local, regional, and global engagements.

What You’ll Do:

Programme Leadership

• Lead SAP transformation programmes from mobilisation through hypercare and transition to support.
• Establish and maintain programme governance structures.
• Ensure delivery aligns with scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

Project Planning and Control

• Develop and maintain integrated project plans.
• Manage programme milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths.
• Monitor project performance and initiate corrective actions where required.
• Drive adherence to agreed delivery methodology and governance standards.

Stakeholder Management

• Build trusted relationships with client executives and business leaders.
• Facilitate Steering Committee and governance meetings.
• Manage communications across all stakeholder groups.
• Ensure timely decision-making and escalation management.

Financial and Commercial Management

• Manage project budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor resource utilisation and project financial performance.
• Manage contractual obligations and change requests.
• Ensure delivery remains commercially viable and aligned with contractual commitments.

Risk and Issue Management

• Maintain project risk and issue registers.
• Lead mitigation planning and resolution activities.
• Escalate major risks and issues appropriately.
• Ensure dependencies across workstreams are managed effectively.

Resource and Vendor Management

• Coordinate project resources across business and technical teams.
• Manage third-party suppliers and implementation partners.
• Ensure effective collaboration across all participating organisations.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure project deliverables meet agreed standards.
• Conduct project health checks and readiness assessments.
• Oversee testing, deployment, and cutover governance activities.
• Promote continuous improvement throughout the programme lifecycle.

Business Readiness and Adoption

• • Support organisational change management activities.
  • Ensure business readiness plans are developed and executed.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, training, and adoption activities.
  • Facilitate successful transition into business‑as‑usual operations.

What We’re Looking For:

SAP Programme Delivery Experience

• Minimum 10 years of project or programme management experience.
• Minimum 5 years leading SAP implementation or transformation projects.
• Experience delivering at least two full lifecycle SAP programmes.
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams and multiple workstreams.
• Experience managing executive-level stakeholders and governance forums.

SAP Transformation Experience

Demonstrated experience leading one or more of the following:

• SAP S/4HANA implementations
• SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations
• Greenfield ERP programmes
• Brownfield transformation projects
• Multi-country SAP roll‑outs
• Shared services and business transformation initiatives
• Application managed services transition programmes

Delivery Methodology Experience

• • SAP Activate methodology
  • Agile and hybrid delivery approaches
  • Programme governance frameworks
  • Risk and quality management practices
  • Cutover and deployment planning
  • Transition to support and hypercare management

SAP Knowledge Requirements

The successful candidate is expected to possess a solid understanding of SAP programme delivery and implementation approaches, including:

• SAP S/4HANA programme lifecycle
• Data migration concepts
• Testing lifecycle and defect management
• Security and access governance principles
• Integration management
• Change management and training activities
• Environment and release planning

The role does not require deep configuration or technical specialist expertise. Technical design responsibility remains with Solution Architects, Functional Leads, Technical Leads, Security Leads, and Data Leads.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's degree and/or MBA desirable but not mandatory
