Job summary

Carrier is seeking a driven Senior Sales Engineer (Pumps focus) to grow our rental business in Malaysia across Oil & Gas, pipeline services, marine yards and construction sectors. The role centers on pump rental solutions and supporting project applications.

You will develop opportunities, promote high-flow/high-pressure solutions, and cross-sell chillers and HVAC when cooling is needed. Willingness to travel across Malaysia and Singapore is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering preferred, but not mandatory for strong performers.
• 2–5 years in pump/equipment rental, O&G, or construction sales.
• Proven hunter mindset with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Willing to travel across Malaysia and Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Business development and building new opportunities in Oil & Gas, pipeline services, marine yards, and construction sectors.
• Promote pump rental solutions with high-flow and high-pressure applications.
• Cross-sell chillers and HVAC solutions for temporary cooling needs.
• Build relationships with EPC contractors, plant owners, and project teams.
• Coordinate delivery, installation, and demobilisation; support project execution.

Job Title: Senior Sales Engineer – Rental Solutions (Hunter Role)

Role Overview

We are looking for a driven Sales Engineer (Pumps focus) to grow our rental business across Oil & Gas, pipeline services, marine yards, and construction sectors in Malaysia.

The role focuses primarily on pump rental solutions, supporting project applications such as:

• Decommissioning activities (Platform, Pipeline)
• Pipeline Services (Flushing, pigging, pressure test, dewatering, commissioning)
• Pre-trenching, post trenching new and pipeline partial replacement
• Onshore Process plant shutdowns, maintenance, and emergency jobs
• Deluge, fire pump testing, emergency support
• Cooling water circulation (freshwater / seawater)

In addition, the role will support Chillers and HVAC solutions for temporary cooling needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development (80%)
• Develop new opportunities in:
• Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream, downstream)
• Pipeline services and utilities projects
• Marine and shipyard environments
• Construction and infrastructure projects
• Promote pump rental solutions (primary focus) including high-flow and high-pressure applications
• Identify opportunities in:
• T&C, shutdowns, maintenance
• Decommissioning works and project dismantling phases
• Emergency and temporary operations
• Cross-sell chillers and HVAC solutions when cooling is required
• Build pipeline through cold calling, networking, and site engagement
• Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
• Build relationships with:
• EPC contractors, plant owners, and operators
• Project managers, engineers, and procurement teams
• Understand project requirements and propose practical rental solutions
• Position rental as a fast, flexible, cost-effective alternative to ownership
• Technical & Site Support (20%)
• Conduct site visits and recommend suitable pump solutions
• Support equipment selection and system setup
• Coordinate with operations team for:
• Delivery, installation, and demobilization
• Provide support during execution of projects

Role Purpose

• Drive pump rental growth (primary focus)
• Support revenue from chillers & HVAC (secondary)
• Transition your experience in high-volume sales into a technical, solution-based sales role with long-term growth potential.
• Expand presence across Malaysia & Singapore

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) preferred, but not mandatory for strong sales performers.
• 2–5 years in:
• Pump / equipment rental / O&G / construction sales
• Strong hunter mindset with proven sales track record
• Comfortable working in project/site environments
• Willing to travel across Malaysia & Singapore
