The role combines commercial acumen with engineering knowledge, requiring travel and strong communication skills. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in industrial sales.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation).
• Knowledge of Process, Energy, Factory Automation, or Machinery markets is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned accounts and territories, maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and account retention.
• Provide technical sales support and expertise to clients, translating complex product features into business benefits.
• Conduct needs analysis and consultative selling with customers to understand their requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals to prospective and existing clients.
• Collaborate with the technical and product teams to ensure client requirements are met and solutions are delivered effectively.
• Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation and deal closure.
• Monitor market trends and competitive activities, providing feedback to support strategic business development.
• Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and key performance indicators.

We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join WEIDMULLER INTERFACE (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in driving sales growth and building lasting client relationships within our key markets. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing complex sales cycles, and providing technical expertise to support client decision-making processes. This role combines both commercial acumen and technical knowledge, making it essential to our continued success and market expansion.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial sales
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation)
• Industry knowledge of Process, Energy, Factory Automation, or Machinery markets will be advantageous
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and deliver results consistently.
• Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
• Results-driven with the ability to focus on achieving set objectives and goals
• Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies
• Willingness to travel
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English & BM, knowledge of Mandarin is a strong advantage
• Software Knowledge: MS Office, CX Spark (CRM)
