Job summary

Transgrid Ventures Sdn. Bhd. invites applications for a Senior Safety Supervisor / Senior ESH Supervisor to monitor daily site activities, enforce ESH compliance, and drive risk assessments across project sites in Malaysia.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience and a strong background in environmental, safety, and health management. The successful candidate will conduct inspections, training, incident investigations and report preparation while coordinating with the ESH Manager,

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or a related field.
• Certified Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) by DOSH is required/preferred.
• Other relevant ESH/Safety certifications will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure ESH compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions and recommend control measures.
• Lead toolbox talks, training and ESH awareness programmes for workers and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support environmental controls including waste management and noise control.
• Assist in emergency response activities and drills; ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Prepare and maintain ESH reports and records; coordinate with managers and engineers.

Job description

Senior Safety Supervisor / Senior ESH Supervisor

Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) regulations, standards and company policies.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify potential safety and environmental hazards.

Ensure appropriate preventive and corrective actions are implemented and followed up effectively.

Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and environmental risks, and recommend suitable control measures.

Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings, training and ESH awareness programmes for workers, subcontractors and relevant stakeholders.

Monitor the proper use and condition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment at the worksite.

Assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor environmental controls, including waste management, pollution prevention, water usage and noise control.

Support emergency response activities and emergency drills, ensuring site personnel understand and follow established procedures.

Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly ESH reports, inspection records, training records, incident reports and corrective action records.

Work closely with the ESH Manager, Project Manager, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to ensure effective implementation of ESH requirements.

Exercise the authority to stop unsafe work activities where there is an immediate risk to health, safety or the environment.

Perform other ESH-related duties as assigned by the management.

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or a related field.

Certified Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) by DOSH is required/preferred.

Other relevant ESH/Safety certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH), Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or a related field.

Hands-on experience in site safety management, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigation.

Experience in construction and/or substation projects will be an added advantage.

Good knowledge and understanding of Malaysian ESH/OSH regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022, Environmental Quality Act 1974 and other relevant guidelines.

Good understanding of risk assessment and implementation of appropriate control measures.

Strong observation and inspection skills with the ability to identify safety and environmental risks.

Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate safety instructions and prepare clear reports.

Proactive, responsible and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.

Good leadership and teamwork skills.

Other Requirements

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written.

Willing to work on-site and to travel between project sites as required.

Able to perform and able to conduct site inspections, including outdoor work.

Strong commitment towards maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
