Job summary

TE Connectivity in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior R&D Product Development Engineer to design and develop socket, high-speed connector, and cable assembly solutions used in data switches, servers and storage. You will own the product from market definition through production and release.

You will run simulations, create detailed drawings, perform DFMEA, manage ECN/PCN, and collaborate with customers, vendors, and TE teams worldwide to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with electrical components and design.
• Experience with socket/connector/cable assembly design and related DFMEA.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication.
• Fluent English for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development from market definition through production.
• Create detailed designs with 2D/3D drawings and DFMEA.
• Perform mechanical and thermal simulations.
• Coordinate with customers, sales, and manufacturing.
• Provide technical support to operations and quality teams.
