Job summary

Northern Solar Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Survey Manager to lead post-contract QS activities and commercial management across projects. You will monitor costs, budgets, commitments, and variations, ensuring alignment with contract terms and project plans.

You will review Bills of Quantities, interim and final accounts, and manage relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers while guiding a team of QS professionals to optimise margins and close-out with accurate final accounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in post-contract Quantity Surveying, commercial management or contract administration.
• Experience in managing a team and supervising QS professionals.
• Strong hands-on cost control, BQ administration, claims and final accounts.
• Strong commercial negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience in Solar/Renewable energy is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-contract QS activities and commercial management for assigned projects.
• Monitor and control project costs, budgets, commitments and commercial performance.
• Review BQ, project costing and contract values against progress and expenditure.
• Manage relations with sub-contractors and suppliers and resolve commercial matters.
• Collaborate with Project and Design Teams on material, costing and commercial issues.
• Verify sub-contractor progress claims, interim claims and final accounts.
• Evaluate VO, additional works and changes; assess cost impact of design changes.
• Monitor cost-to-complete, variance, and projected final costs; report to Management.
• Lead project commercial close-out and final account settlement; ensure documentation.
• Provide commercial advice to Management and Project Teams for profitability.
