Job summary

HSS ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management for engineering and infrastructure projects in Malaysia. You will oversee cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, cost plans and tender documents, ensuring accurate quantity take-off and cost assessment across civil and structural works.

You will mentor junior staff, monitor costs, review contractor claims and manage contracts including Interim Payments, Variations, EOT and Final Accounts.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably with engineering consultancy, contractor, or project management consultancy.
• Strong cost estimation, quantity take-off, BQ preparation, tendering, contract administration and cost control expertise.
• Familiar with Interim Payment, Variation Orders, EOT, claims and Final Accounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost plans, tender documents and pre-tender estimates.
• Review drawings, specifications and contracts to ensure accurate quantity take-off and cost assessment.
• Conduct quantity take-off, measurement, valuation and cost analysis for civil/structural works.
• Assist in preparation and evaluation of tender documents, clarifications and recommendations.
• Manage and administer construction contracts including Interim Payment, Variation Orders, EOT and Final Accounts.
• Review and evaluate contractors' claims, payment applications, variations and supporting documents.
• Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports and financial updates to the Project Manager/Client.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and project teams on commercial and contractual matters.
