Job summary

AECOM is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor in Malaysia to lead pre- and post-contract activities for major infrastructure projects. You will estimate costs, prepare tender documents, and manage variations while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors.

You will mentor junior staff, perform detailed cost analyses, and ensure adherence to building regulations and company standards. This role requires a strong client focus and a results-driven mindset in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building or Quantity Surveying.
• 8 years of experience in pre- and post-contract roles within consultancy or main contractor environments.
• Experience with infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and client-focused mindset.
• Mentor and guide junior staff.
• Self-check work prior to submission.
• Collaborative with guidance on unfamiliar tasks.

Responsibilities

• Establish client requirements and conduct feasibility studies.
• Attend site and consultant meetings; liaise with clients, architects and associates.
• Interpret drawings to calculate project costs.
• Prepare main building, piling contracts and sub-contracts for tender.
• Measure quantities for architectural, infrastructure and structural work.
• Administer pre- and post-contract and consultancy work.
• Assess variations, prepare interim valuations, cost plans and budgets.
• Compile contract documents for execution.
• Ensure compliance with statutory building regulations.
• Allocate work to subcontractors and monitor progress.
• Maintain progress reports and evaluate project outcomes.
• Value completed work and arrange payments.
• Provide advice on contractual claims.
