Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a strategic Commercial Quantity Surveyor to oversee tendering frameworks, budgets, and commercial proposals for large infrastructure projects. You will work closely with engineering and delivery teams to drive cost efficiencies, manage risks, and optimize value across all commercial activities.

The role requires strong experience in cost management, tender evaluation, and contract administration, with a focus on progress claims and subcontractor pricing.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction cost management for large infrastructure or civil projects.
• Technical understanding of quantity take-offs and contract frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of progress claims, variation orders, and subcontractor price analysis.
• Proficient in commercial spreadsheet modelling and estimation software.

Responsibilities

• Formulate comprehensive cost estimations, project budgets, and detailed commercial proposals for large infrastructure ventures.
• Evaluate tender designs and technical specifications to identify risk, hidden costs, and price variables.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to implement cost-effective design modifications and value engineering solutions.
• Lead contract negotiations, variation order evaluations, and progress claim submissions with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Supervise post‑bid review processes and provide commercial guidance to junior QS team members.
