Job summary

TR Build Group Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia seeks a seasoned Quantity Surveyor with a Diploma in Quantity Surveying and 5+ years of practical experience in construction.

You will handle cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts, manage contracts and risks, and lead value engineering initiatives while communicating fluently in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English. Independent work and teamwork are required at Kuala Lumpur sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in quantity surveying.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying practices, cost estimation and budget management.
• Strong skills in contract negotiation, risk management and value engineering.
• Fluent in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
• Manage project costs throughout the construction lifecycle and implement cost controls.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specs to determine material quantities.
• Prepare and administer contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Evaluate risks, identify cost overruns, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Conduct value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities without reducing quality.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variations, and final accounts with proper documentation.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth communication.
• Monitor and report on project financial performance and potential risks.

• Conduct value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or functionality.

• Prepare and submit progress claims, variations, and final accounts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payment.

• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

• Monitor and report on project financial performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders on cost status, forecasts, and potential risks.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice in all aspects of quantity surveying.
