Job summary

TR Build Group Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, prepare estimates, and oversee budgets for construction projects.

You will conduct quantity take-offs, draft contracts, and liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires a Diploma in Quantity Surveying with at least 5 years of practical experience, and strong skills in value engineering, risk management, and cost control.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' practical experience in quantity surveying.
• Proficient in QS practices, cost estimation, and budget management.
• Strong contract negotiation, risk management, and value engineering skills.
• Fluent in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and English.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiar with Kuala Lumpur construction regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Manage project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, tracking expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing cost control measures.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to accurately determine the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for projects.
• Prepare and administer contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms and conditions with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Evaluate and manage project risks, identifying potential cost overruns, delays, and other issues, and developing mitigation strategies.
• Conduct value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or functionality.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, variations, and final accounts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payment.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and report on project financial performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders on cost status, forecasts, and potential risks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice in all aspects of quantity surveying.
