Job summary

GAMUDA in Malaysia seeks a Procurement/Quantity Surveying professional to support pre- and post-contract cost control. You will assist in budget establishment, evaluate tenders, and monitor costs across building projects.

The role covers site valuation, interim claims, variation reviews, final accounts, and cost reporting, with an emphasis on achieving value and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma/certificate in Quantity Surveying or Building Technology.
• At least 5 years of QS experience in construction projects.
• Strong costing, estimating and contract knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing project budget during pre-contract.
• Review tender documents and participate in tender evaluation.
• Carry out site valuation and process interim progress claims monthly.
• Review variations, final accounts and contract status.
• Prepare cost data reports and support compliance with QA/QHSE.

Responsible for procurement, assist manager in cost monitoring and control.

Key Responsibilities

Job description:

1. Pre-Contract Stage

• Assist in establishing of project budget
• Pre-qualification of tenderers Source and identify suitable tenderers, evaluation and recommendation of tenderers to participate in tender as per tender programme.
• Cost analysis I review pretender estimates, analyse on tenders submitted. II elemental cost analysis for building and infra-structure works. III carry out cost economic study of alternative specification and design.
• Review tender and contract document.
• Assist in coordination of procurement exercise, which include calling of tender, review tender report, attend tender interview, negotiate and finalise award.
• Review and rationalization of rates.

2. Post Contract Stage

• Carry out site valuation and process interim progress claim on monthly basis.
• Review quotation or claim for variation works submitted by contractors.
• Review final account.
• Monitoring contractual status.
• Assisting in cost control by monitoring and evaluating RFVs.
• Assist in preparation of financial statement.

3. Others

• Prepare quotation document for minor works and new works.
• Collate and compile cost data report.
• To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
• Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Qualifications

Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Quantity Surveying or Building Technology.

Skills & Abilities

Costing, estimating, knowledge of pre and post contract activities.
