Job summary

AECOM in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to manage pre and post contract activities for major consultancy or main contractor projects. You will liaise with clients, architects and consultants, prepare contracts, measure costs, and guide junior staff throughout project lifecycles.

Responsibilities include evaluating variation orders, cost plans, budget studies, and ensuring compliance with building regulations while producing detailed progress reports and contract documents

Qualifications

• Experience in pre and post contract in consultancy / main contractor environment.
• Mentor and guide juniors within project teams.
• Self-check of work products before submission.

• Measure quantities for architectural/infrastructure and structural work elements.
• Administer pre and post contract and consultancy work.

• Compile contract documents for execution.
• Understand and adhere to statutory building regulations.
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance of project work.
• Allocate work to subcontractors.
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
• Maintain awareness of different building contracts in current use.
• Valuing completed work and arrange payments.
• Provide advice on contractual claims.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Building / Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• 8 years of experience within pre and post contract in consultancy / main contractor environment. Builder and/or infrastructure project would be of advantages.
• Demonstrate passion, be results orientated and commitment to the company and client.
• Contributes by solving problems and applying experience to typical projects.
• Mentor and provide guidance to juniors.
• Performs a self-check of work products before submitting them to others.
• Works collaboratively with guidance on how to complete unfamiliar work activities.
